About us

Cracher Dans La Soupe Parfum is a small artisanal perfumery developed by Megan Hepburn and Alexander Muir. We create perfume as a means to empower people to expand their unique emotional and cerebral space, as well as sensual repertoire, through casting fragrant protective circles around them.

The perfumery invokes the fluidity, non-fixity and reflective qualities of flowing water, the wild growth of long forgotten gardens and the hidden places that appear in this untended plant life. The refusal of aromas to stay put, behave or delineate a perfectly rational and identifiable form enables us to learn in this way too. With our perfumes we strive for this cognitive plasticity in all its messiness, non-discreteness and ephemerality to permeate the sensoriums of our wearers.

Where appropriate, we use traditional distillation and extraction techniques of local aromatic plants that we either forage or grow and harvest here on the West Coast of Canada. We gratefully acknowledge our privileged position to operate in the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.
